ACT For America Leader Joins Zinke Watch Party In Whitefish

Congressman Ryan Zinke’s election night watch party in Whitefish has drawn a crowd of about 100 people, including the leader of a local group that promotes greater scrutiny of Muslims in the name of national security.

ACT For America has recently hosted a number of events in the Flathead Valley decrying elements of Islam that they say threaten the foundations of America. The group calls itself educational, but Montana-based and national human rights groups say ACT engages in hate-speech.

Calvin Beringer is co-leader of the Flathead County chapter of ACT For America. He says he looks forward toward Trump’s so-called "draining the swamp."

"My opinion there's going to be a lot of exodus from the United States because people are going to be running away because they’ve been affiliated with this criminal act for a long time," Beringer said.

Beringer says regardless of who wins tonight, tomorrow is a whole new day, and the country needs to move forward.
