On Tuesday, local organizations are rallying in five cities across Montana in response to recent anti-Muslim and anti-refugee activity.
The Montana Human Rights Network aims to publicly challenge what they call “the rhetoric of fear and hate towards refugees, as well as support the current efforts to create relocation opportunities for refugees in Montana.”
Three recent anti-refugee protests in Missoula, Hamilton and Helena have drawn hundreds of participants.
The Montana Human Rights Network and a coalition of local organizations and churches will hold events in Bozeman, Missoula, Helena, Kalispell, and Billings tomorrow at 5:00 p.m.
Community groups in Missoula and Helena are working to develop a refugee resettlement office in Montana, those efforts spurred the recent anti-refugee rallies.
The events will take place at:
- Helena: Constitution Park (6th & Last Chance)
- Missoula: XXXs to Caras Park
- Kalispell: Depot Park
- Billings: St. Andrew Presbyterian, 180 24th St. West
- Bozeman: Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ, 2118 S Third
