In Missoula today, Governor Steve Bullock held an event to talk about a new online tool to help start-up businesses and entrepreneurs more easily find their way through the state’s rules and permitting processes.

It’s called the Montana Business Navigator. Bullock is launching it at the same time that his likely Republican opponent in the Governor’s race, Greg Gianforte, is on a statewide tour seeking feedback from businesses on regulations they’d like to eliminate.

Governor Bullock says the new online navigator was developed using feedback from people starting new business ventures in Montana.

"Entrepreneurs and small business owners in Montana really needed a simple and straightforward system to guide them through the process of obtaining the proper permits, licenses, identify other steps that they would need to get their particular business up and running.”

The governor says the program went live about a month ago and already has 3500 web clicks, and that 200 people have used the business checklist part of the navigator.
