Northwestern Energy says Missoulians in the Linda Vista/Miller Creek areas still without power probably won't have any until late tomorrow night.

A powerful storm earlier this week packed wind gusts of over 70 miles-per-hour, knocking out power for about 9,000 customers.  Northwestern says Missoulians outside of Linda Vista/Miller Creek who still don't have power will most likely be back online by tonight.

A Northwestern Energy press release says "about 100 people working on the outages scattered across the city and outlying areas. Crews from the state are helping the Missoula NWE crews with the restoration work."

Miller Creek-Linda Vista residents that do have power are asked to conserve electricity as much as possible by using only essential appliances and devices. Temporary generation is providing this power, and Northwestern wants to avoid overloading issues.

For the rest of Missoula, Northwestern says: "If there are customers without service, and they have not already reported the outage, they should call NWE at (888) 467-2669. If the outage has been reported, customers are asked not to call again. High call volumes are hindering our ability to handle customer issues."

We'll have more this evening on the work to restore power to the affected areas.
