New exhibit illustrates the individualism of American folk art

A new exhibit at the Missoula Art Museum showcases folk art from around the country.

The exhibit is titled "Strange and Wonderful", and the pieces are from the private collection of Willem and Diane Volkersz.
    Folk art scholar Tom Patterson gave News Director Sally Mauk a tour of the drawings, paintings and sculptures in the exhibit .

Retired in 2014 but still a presence at MTPR, Sally Mauk is a University of Kansas graduate and former wilderness ranger who has reported on everything from the Legislature to forest fires.
