Prescribed Fire Sending Smoke To Missoula

A prescribed fire in Missoula’s Rattlesnake corridor is sending up plumes of smoke today.

District Fire Manager Jesse Kurpius says the 44-acre fire is dying down, but staff is closely monitoring the burn and extinguishing hot spots. He expects smoke to be visible for the next several days, until the week’s forecast of rain and snow puts out any remaining embers.
