The wives of two men shot multiple times in March on roads in the Missoula area gave updates on their husbands’ recoveries Wednesday.
Montana Highway Patrol trooper Wade Palmer, who was shot three times, successfully completed another surgery on June 17 to repair his skull, his wife Lindsey Palmer said.
She added that Wade remains nonverbal at this time but continues to make improvements in other forms of communication and asked for prayers and privacy as they continue to search for their new normal.
Casey Blanchard, who was shot earlier the same evening, is making, “astonishing progress,” his wife Leah Blanchard said in the same statement issued by the Montana Department of Justice.
Casey’s mother, Julie Blanchard, who was also shot in the March incident, died June third. A celebration of her life is scheduled for July 28 in Lolo.
