BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — The state Board of Regents approved a 2 percent pay raise for 13 top administrators within the Montana university system.

Montana State University President Waded Cruzado, University of Montana President Seth Bodnar and Commissioner of Higher Education Clayton Christian will be paid just over $320,000 a year, beginning Feb. 1.

The regents on Friday also approved naming MSU's Western Lands and Peoples Center in memory of Montana writer Ivan Doig, who wrote "This House of Sky." The center will be called the Ivan Doig Center for the Study of the Lands and Peoples of the North American West.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports Carol Doig donated her husband's papers to MSU. Provost Bob Mokwa said she will donate $100,000 a year for operating costs and plans to leave a $1 million gift to the university.
