Spring enrollment numbers for the University of Montana are down 5.4 percent compared to last year. That’s according to numbers released today by the University.

Total enrollment is just under 11,000 students, that’s nearly 630 fewer than last spring.

UM officials said the lower numbers were anticipated and expect academic year end enrollment to bump up as students finish paying bills for the semester. Graduate School enrollment increased by nearly five percent.

UM’s enrollment has steadily declined since 2011’s record of 15,000 students.
