Campaign finance reports filed Monday show Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Gianforte’s campaign brought in more money than his opponent Democratic incumbent Steve Bullock in the latest reporting period. But most of the money Gianforte reported adding to his campaign in the latest period came from several loans from the Bozeman businessman himself, totaling $150,000.
From outside supporters, Gianforte raised more than $100,000.
Bullock raised more than $110,000 over the same period.
That leaves Bullock with about $1.2 million cash on hand — substantially more than Gianforte’s campaign account, which has $375,000 in it.
Since the end of April, the Republican candidate spent nearly three times what Bullock has on the campaign.
Libertarian candidate for Governor Ted Dunlap’s filing reports show he has not raised any money.
