The String Orchestra Of The Rockies Plays Music Of Queens And Princesses

Michael Marsolek talks with Fern Glass Boyd, cellist and Artistic Director of the String Orchestra of the Rockies, and mezzo-soprano Kimberly James about the November 22, 2015 SOR performance titled "Dido - Queen of Carthage." The program features James, a member of the faculty at the University of Montana, and the UM Women's Choir, under the direction of David Edmonds. Highlights include the finale from Henry Purcell's opera, "Dido and Aeneas;"  Handel's "Entrance of the Queen of Sheba;" Ravel's "Pavane For a Dead Princess;" and Ola Gjeilo's "Songs of the Universal," with lyrics by Walt Whitman.

The performance takes place in the Music Recital Hall at the University of Montana's School of Music and starts at 7:30 p.m. Click here for ticket information.
