December 1st, 2013: Greg and Jon discuss a November 2011 article in Food Safety News by Andrew Schneider, titled "Tests Show Most Store Honey Isn't Honey; Ultra-Filtering Removes Pollen, Hides Honey Origins."According to Schneider, overall, 76% of honey samples bought at U.S. grocery stores had undergone ultrafiltration, with all their pollen removed - meaning the contents no longer qualified as "honey."  However, according to Vaughn Bryant, professor at Texas A & M and director of the university's Palynology Research Laboratory, "100% of the honey bought at farmers markets, co-ops and “natural” stores had the full, anticipated, amount of pollen."
