On Oct 30 from 2-4 p.m., Montana Public Radio welcomes Julia Tai, music director for the Missoula Symphony, into the studio to curate a spectacularly spooky two hours of classical music all based on the Gregorian chant "Dies Irae".
While two hours may seem like a lot to dedicate to one melody, it shows just how significant and influential that melody is. You'll hear famously terrifying music from composers such as Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Berlioz and even some contemporary artists such as Stephen Sondheim, Danny Elfman and even ... an Elvis impersonator(!?)
