Multiple wildfires discovered yesterday continue burning across Flathead County. High winds took down power lines and caused smoldering debris piles to escape their perimeters.

Several Montana Republicans hoping to unseat Democratic U.S. Senator Jon Tester are loaning themselves money to prime their campaign war chests as election season get started.

The federal government gave Montana a one-year extension to comply with the REAL ID law.  Without it, Montanans could not board a commercial airplane or enter federal buildings after January 22, 2018 using their driver’s license. 

A man was shot and critically injured shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday after pointing a shotgun at two police officers as he sat in a vehicle outside a Billings motel.

State regulators have thrown out an application to build a gravel mine near the Paradise Valley town of Emigrant, according to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle.
