Plans to build a $400 million railroad to haul coal from a proposed mine on the Montana-Wyoming border were put on indefinite hold today because of delays in obtaining a mining permit and a weakening coal market, officials said.

Thousands in Spokane, Washington  have been without power for over a week since a devastating windstorm buckled the region’s power grid. The November 17 storm left nearly 200,000 households and businesses without power. Roughly 5,000 customers will go without electricity through tomorrow.
