Retired U.S. Supreme Court justice Sandra Day O'Connor  received an honorary doctorate of laws from the University of Montana today.

NASA recently awarded a 1.125 million dollar grant to researchers at the University of Montana to explore, among other things, whether there is life on other planets.

As we reported earlier, the two-year Bitterroot College in Hamilton became the last of the seven two-year colleges in the state to unveil its new name and logo.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks

Various agencies are teaming-up to research recreation patterns on the Blackfoot and Bitterroot Rivers.
     The study will be conducted by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, the Bureau of Land Management, the Forest Service and the University of Montana.
     The point of the survey is to find out what river users like about our waterways and where they'd like to see some improvements made.

In this feature interview, F-W-P's Fishing Access Site Manager, Chet Crowser, says one thing is clear; people love our rivers and more of us are using them.

    Longtime NBC News correspondent and University of Montana alumnus Don Oliver died last week at the age of 76. Oliver was a Billings native who worked for NBC nearly thirty years, covering everything from wars to presidential campaigns. He received a Distinguished Alumnus award from UM in 1985, and taught a semester there after he retired from NBC in the 1990's.

Missoulians John and Sue Talbot will receive Honorary Doctorates of Humane Letters at the University of Montana commencement ceremony tomorrow.
