Helena Symphony Orchestra & Chorale

When conductor Allan R. Scott first met Claire Huangci, the ten-year-old pianist from Philadelphia was a contestant in a major piano competition, and Scott was president of the competition's jury. Huangci won, and she and Scott performed with six different orchestras all over the U.S.

Saturday May, 2 the Helena Symphony will present Beethoven's Ninth as part of their 60th anniversary celebration.

MTPR's Michael Marsolek spoke with Allan R. Scott, the Helena Symphony's music director about the upcoming concert and celebration.

Christmas In The Cathedral

On Sunday, December 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cathedral of St. Helena, the Helena Symphony officially begins the Helena holiday season with one performance only of Handel’s Messiah, Allan R. Scott – Conductor.

The Helena Symphony continues its 60th season with a concert titled "The Sacred & The Seductive". The concert takes place  Saturday, October 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Helena Civic Center.

Allan R. Scott, music director of Helena Symphony, and Kile Smith, the Symphony's Composer in Residence  spoke with MTPR Program Director Michael Marsolek about the upcoming show and the theme of "The Sacred & The Seductive."
