The three health insurance companies that sell individual policies in Montana say they need to increase their prices significantly next year. They're asking Montana's Health Insurance Commissioner Monica Lindeen to approve average premium increases for individual health plans that range from 20 to 62 percent. In the small group market, the insurers are proposing premium increases of three percent to 32 percent.

Several hundred Montana Republican Party members are gathering in Billings starting tonight to select the state’s delegation for the National GOP Convention, in July.

Montana Democrats rallied in Helena Saturday night around their candidates for six statewide offices. Party Executive Director Nancy Keenan fired up the crowd and set the tone for this year's election.

"We have to make those phone calls, and we have to get out the vote," Keenan said. "Let's go! Let's go win! On to victory!"

A former state Senator from Billings has announced he’s running for statewide office.

Republican Corey Stapleton served eight years in the Montana Senate, and since leaving office he’s run unsuccessfully for Governor, the U.S. House, and the U.S. Senate. Now he wants to be Secretary of State.
