In Montana, lawmakers, public health officials and gun rights advocates are coming together to promote storing guns outside the home for people experiencing a mental health crisis. The idea is to put space and time between gun owners who may be suicidal, and their firearms. Because suicide, when it happens, is highly impulsive and often depends on what is at hand.
