State Water Plan meetings for Clark Fork Basin kick off next week

Montana DNRC

The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation has launched an initiative to update the state's water plan. Scoping meetings are being held in each of Montana's major river basins, with meetings for the Clark Fork Basin starting next Tuesday, October 15th.

In this feature interview with Edward O'Brien, Michael Downey - the supervisor of the Water Planning Section in the DNRC's Water Resources Division - explains some of the initiative's fundamental goals, starting with Montana's Water Plan itself.

Edward O’Brien first landed at Montana Public Radio three decades ago as a news intern while attending the UM School of Journalism. He covers a wide range of stories from around the state.
