Montana State Parks is analyzing a land donation that would add 10 acres to Milltown State Park east of Missoula.

The land would be donated by the International Paper Company and Milltown State Park needs to figure out the effects of developing the land on the location’s environment.

Following acquisition of the property, Milltown State Park would improve the access roadway to provide safe passage for people going in and out of the park.

The agency says acquiring the land would preserve the character of the area by ensuring that future improvements to the site are compatible with the park.

The public is invited to comment on the draft Environmental Assessment until Wednesday, November 25 at 5:00 p.m.

To comment you can visit the Montana State Parks Website.
