President Trump Confirms July 5 Great Falls Visit

President Donald Trump’s campaign website today confirmed he will appear at the Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls next Thursday.

He’s making good on a promise to campaign against Montana’s Democratic Senator Jon Tester, following a spat between the two in April. After Tester played a role in releasing allegations that derailed Trump’s pick of Ronny Jackson to run the Veterans Affairs Department, Trump said on Fox and Friends it would end up hurting the Tester.

“I think Jon Tester has a big price to pay in Montana," the President said.

The Trump re-election campaign told the Associated Press the president will speak in Great Falls about tax cuts, illegal immigration and the importance of electing more Republicans to the Senate this fall.

Republican Matt Rosendale, who is challegening Tester, won his party’s primary on a platform closely tied to Trump, which he made clear in his primary election night speech.

“We need to send President Trump some conservative reinforcements who will end the liberal obstruction and work with him to pass his agenda of making America great again," Rosendale said.

Jon Tester’s campaign says he’s extended invitations for the President to visit Montana and talk about local issues. Tester is walking a fine line trying not to alienate Montana voters that handed Trump a 20 point win here, while also pushing back on Trump enough to satisfy the Democratic party base.

Tester’s campaign sent a fundraising email out to supporters after Trump’s visit was confirmed, saying Trump is coming to Montana to, "attack Jon’s character."

Trump is scheduled to appear at the Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 5. Doors open at 1 p.m. Detailsare available here.
