A new list of hospitals designated as Ebola treatment centers is out, and none of those hospitals are in Montana. The list was released by federal Department of Health and Human Services Tuesday.
In September, Missoula’s St. Patrick Hospital said it has been provided federal funding to build, “a specially equipped bio-containment wing,” and that its staff, “are highly trained in specific and unique protocols necessary to treat” patients with “serious infectious disease agents.”
But an anonymous source who works at St. Patrick says the hospital has changed its policies and will now only accept an Ebola patient under very specific circumstances.
Montana Public Radio asked the U.S. and Montana Departments of Health and Human Services about whether St. Patrick’s Ebola treatment designation has changed. We were referred to St. Patrick hospital.
In a statement today, Providence St. Patrick Hospital said it "is not aware of the process the CDC used in generating the list published today. To that end, please direct your questions to the CDC as our response would be speculative at best."
