The political world - both in Montana and nationally - is still reeling a bit from former Governor Brian Schweitzer's announcement last weekend that he will not run for the U.S. Senate seat
being vacated next year by retiring Senator Max Baucus. Schweitzer was seen as a heavy favorite to win the seat, and help keep the U.S. Senate under democratic control. Rumors are flying about just why he chose not to run. In this feature interview, Schweitzer talks with News Director Sally Mauk about those rumors - and about the reasons he's given: namely, that he'd rather live in Montana than D.C. - and the Senate is dysfunctional.
"I'm not changin' my mind."
