President Joe Biden has approved a disaster declaration in Missoula and Powell Counties following July’s major wind storm. Gov. Greg Gianforte requested the declaration nearly two weeks ago. Its approval means state and local governments and some private nonprofits will have access to federal money to aid recovery. Gianforte in his request letter said the storm had caused nearly $4 million in damage.
