The Montana agriculture department is accepting applications for a new grant program targeting investments in value-added agricultural products, like wheat milled into flour for baked goods or malted barley for beer.

The program is offering seven and a half million dollars in grants. All requests require a funding match.

Money for the Value-Added Agriculture Grant Program comes from a bill passed by Congress earlier this year to provide an economic boost amid the pandemic.
