MontanaPBS Garners 13 Regional Emmy Nominations

MontanaPBS

The Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has announced nominations for this year’s Emmy awards, and MontanaPBS has earned 13 nominations for its outstanding programming over the last year.

The nominations span 9 different categories including Documentary, Writing, Photography, Audio and Editing.

One program, “Finding Traction,” received 6 nominations alone.  “Finding Traction” follows Montana ultra-runner Nikki Kimball as she attempts a grueling run across the nation’s longest hiking trail.

Producer John Twiggs received two nominations for the program "Concussion: Answers in the Blood?," a documentary that follows two University of Montana scientists who received funding from the NFL for their novel research on concussions. Twiggs also received a nomination for a segment he produced for Backroads of Montana featuring a centenarian bugler.

11th and Grant with Eric Funk, a show that gives local musicians a chance to showcase their talent to a statewide audience, also received two nominations.

Lastly, "Bard in the Backcountry," a film that chronicles a summer season of Shakespeare in the Parks in Montana, received two nominations as well.
