Event Description

Join 30 days of Innovation programming from 12pm-1pm in the Innovation Factory. This experience will guide the audience through an exploration of indigenous traditional knowledge and how it is (re-)emerging in the modern legal system as an alternative to better managing natural resources. With a focus on waters and fisheries, the presenters will share traditional views of responsibility toward place, as well as how modern legal frameworks can impede but also adapt to accommodate these views. Audience members will roleplay users within a river system that must design their own third way to integrating various cultural views into a shared legal framework. Desserts and coffee provided. For more information, please contact Michelle Bryan or Monte Mills at Michelle.Bryan@mso.umt.edu or Monte.Mills@mso.umt.edu.
