Event Description

Renowned photographer, filmmaker, writer, and explorer Pete McBride will deliver a lecture titled “Between River and Rim: A 750-mile transect through the Grand Canyon exploring the state of our national parks.” His talk is partially based on his most recent film, Into the Canyon. He will highlight current challenges to management of protected like Grand Canyon National Park, including water-energy-food intersections with uranium mining, tourism development, and use of Colorado River water for hydropower and agricultural irrigation. Pete is an inspiring speaker and his talk will engage the University and Missoula communities. His lecture will be held in the Music Recital Hall (Music Building) at 7pm with a reception to follow at 8pm.
