"Wilderness//Kingdom" With Jory Mickelson

"Mickelson adds to the ever-more-robust American tradition of queering the wild and natural world. . . Here is a book worthy of every stolen and cherished encounter." -- Keetje Kuipers, author of All Its Charms

About the Book:

Winner of the 2019 Evergreen Award Tour Full-Length Competition, Wilderness//Kingdom by Jory Mickelson is a sensual and poetic exploration of the West, the  road, and  the body. Spiritual and pastoral, this award-winning debut is not to be missed.

"As much as anything, Wilderness // Kingdom is the autobiography of an American imagination, one that is intent on finding its place, and its body’s place, in the world.  Jory Mickelson writes about that quest, and that journey, with such grace, and with such driving hunger, that his poems can (and do) take your breath away."        -- Robert Wrigley, author of Box and Melancholy & Other Poems

"There’s lightness and grace to the language of Jory Mickelson’s poems, born of the sensual and emotional complexity of male relationships and a sense of belonging." -- D.A. Powell, author of Useless Landscape
