Deregulation - Part IV

NPR's Jim Zarroli concludes a four-part series on the effects of deregulation with a report on growing consumer dissatisfaction with less regulated markets and how some of the failures of deregulation might be overcome. Promises that deregulation would create more competition and lower costs have not materialized in some industries, such as local telephone service, cable television and electrical utilities.
