Congress approves public media funding cuts

Thursday night, Congress passed The Rescissions Act of 2025. This package claws back funds previously appropriated to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) totaling $1.1 billion.

Alabama Faces Deadline on Crowded Prison

The state of Alabama has until Monday to ease overcrowded conditions at the state's prison for women, after a federal judge ruled the prison unsafe. NPR’s Melanie Peeples reports.
