Yellowstone National Park had its second busiest June on record this year. In a statement from the U.S. Department of the Interior, park officials say 810,884 people visited the park last month, up slightly from June 2017.

June 2016, however, remains the busiest recorded year, with nearly 839,000 visits.

Nationwide, National Park visits over the last decade have steadily increased. In Yellowstone alone, year-to-date visitation has increased 27 percent from five years ago.

Yellowstone has reported 1,381,707 visits so far this year, up 2.5 percent from the same period last year.
