Thanksgiving Programming On Montana Public Radio

Montana Public Radio gives thanks to listeners like you!
We're thankful for supporters like you!

Happy Thanksgiving! We're thankful for all our listeners and supporters, and we hope you enjoy the holiday and travel safely. If your Thanksgiving plans include Montana Public Radio, be aware of these holiday programming changes:

The MTPR newsroom will be closed Thursday and Friday. You'll hear news from NPR at the usual times in the morning and evening, but there will be no Montana newscasts. Stories from UM School of Journalism students will air between NPR news segments.

On Thanksgiving, enjoy classical music on MTPR from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., without any clichés about pilgrims and pumpkin pies between pieces. Instead, host John Birge presents a contemporary celebration of the spirit of gratitude, with this year’s special guest, chef Jacques Pepin.

That's followed by "American Routes" doing what they do best: exploring the shared musical and cultural threads in American music.

"The Write Question," "Musician's Spotlight," and "American Routes" will return to their normal schedules next week.
