Former U.S. Senator and U.S. Ambassador to China Max Baucus, D-MT, and former U.S. Senator Al Simpson, R-WY talked about the role of civility in politics during a public forum December 4, 2017 at Cisel Recital Hall on the MSU Billings campus.

The discussion focused on the current state of hyper-partisanship contrasted with how it was when both Baucus and Simpson were able to work across their respective aisles while in office. The discussion concluded with their thoughts on whether anything that can be done to fix the current state of affairs.

This event was sponsored by Yellowstone Public Radio,  MSU Billings and Joseph C. Grott Memorial Fund.

At the end of the program Simpson started to talk about the future of Social Security, but because we were running out of broadcast time unfortunately we had to interrupt his remarks. The video below is a humorous take on a subject Simpson has spoken seriously about for years.
