One of Montana’s foremost voices on wilderness issues is Doug Peacock. He’s a decorated Vietnam veteran who says the time he spent in wilderness helped him recover from the psychological trauma he suffered in combat. Peacock continues to work with groups that bring a new generation of combat vets into wild places.
He was in Missoula last week to speak at a Montana Wilderness Association event. Afterwards, he took a walk beside the Clark Fork River with Eric Whitney, and talked about his concerns about wild places and wild animals.
Peacock is the author of five books on wildlife, wilderness and war. His newest book is In The Shadow Of The Sabertooth.
