Montana Youth Challenge Academy

Brian Kahn talks withGen. Gene Prendergast, retired adjutant general of the Montana National Guard, founder, and Jan Rouse, Executive Director of the Montana Youth Challenge Academy in Dillon, MT.   They're joined by five Academy cadets, who talk about their program's core principles of academic excellence, job and life skills, health and hygiene, leadership and "followership," responsible citizenship, and physical fitness.  "In high school, no one worked as a team. Here, you take one-on-one efforts and place them into a team effort."

(Broadcast: "Home Ground Radio," 3/8/15. Listen weekly on the radio, Sundays at  11:10 a.m., or via podcast.)
