Climate change in Montana: less snow, more fire and “climate refugees”

As part of Montana Public Media's "Climate Week", climate change is the focus of our nightly features this week during Montana Evening Edition.
Tonight, News Director Sally Mauk sits down with three University of Montana climate experts, to get an overview of the current status of climate change - and the public response to it. Dr. Steve Running is Regents Professor of Ecology, and a member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that won the Nobel peace prize. Dr. Steven Schwarze is Associate Professor and Chairman of Communications Studies. Dr. Laurie Yung ("young") is Associate Professor of Natural Resource Social Science.

Retired in 2014 but still a presence at MTPR, Sally Mauk is a University of Kansas graduate and former wilderness ranger who has reported on everything from the Legislature to forest fires.
